Job Duties:
Temporary Seasonal Position: Agricultural Equipment Operator | SOC Code: 45-2091.00 All applicants must be able, willing, qualified to perform work described & must be available for entire period. South Central FS, Inc, Fayette County, IL, Vandalia Possible shift: 7:00AM-4:00PM. 40+ May be possibility of weekend work. Crops: Dry Fertilizers, Liquid Fertilizers, Seed Corn, Seed Beans, Seed Wheat, Feed. Duties may include: operate commercial application equipment or agricultural tractor for the purpose of applying crop inputs to producer fields. Operate and maintain single or tandem axle trucks, multi-axle configuration trucks, deliver and/or pick up of agronomy and/or energy products and other equipment. Assist in manufacturing of feed, applies crop production inputs to fields and growing drops according to recommended rates, procedures and following all pesticide labels. Records application data, set up material handling, blending, storage, transport and application equipment for blending and delivery of products. Safely operate sprayers, floaters, single or tandem axle trucks, tractors and other equipment, perform and record daily safety checks of assigned vehicles and associated equipment, conduct pre-trip inspections such as checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires, lights and breaks. Responsible for inventory control and turns in application records on daily basis. Schedule maintenance and repairs of vehicles and equipment as requested. Maintain service records of each piece of equipment and vehicle. Responsible for housekeeping of the shop and general maintenance of ship and equipment. Load and unload containers, pallets, or materials and products. Adhere to safety rules and must adhere to EHS, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures at all times & other related Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org). Must have 3 months Agricultural exp. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 100lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. Tools supplies and equipment provided at no cost to worker. Employer guarantees 3/4 of contract. Work outdoors, exposed to weather, hot or cold; hours may vary (+/-); possible downtimes and/or extended hrs. Dependable: fulfill obligations. Attn. to detail: complete work tasks. Employer provided housing available to those who cannot reasonably return to their residence within the same day. No cell phone use during work hours. Must be able to obtain a drivers license. Must be 18 due to equipment use. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/ refusal to abide = dismissal. Possible background check post hire at employer's expense. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show legal authorization to work in the United States.
