Job Duties:
The primary work activity during the overall contract period will be related to the maintenance of irrigation and other farm equipment during the critical production season. Duties will include trouble-shooting and repairing electrical maintenance issues with a variety of equipment used in the production of corn, grain, hay and potatoes. This will involve single and three phase systems that operate at 480 volts or less. The majority of the work activities during the overall contract period, will be related to agricultural equipment maintenance and repairs, electrical. Duties specific to the maintenance of irrigation equipment will include repairing electric water pumps, system controls, motors and/or other mechanisms relative to proper irrigation of crops. Worker will be responsible for assuring proper pump operations. Duties will also include winterizing the irrigation equipment at the conclusion of the production season. Duties related to repair of equipment will include maintaining and/or repairing wiring systems relative to all equipment used in the planting, sorting/handling, harvesting, and packing/storage of agricultural commodities. May climb ladder to perform duties. Worker will be required to order, maintain and update a complete inventory of parts necessary for all production maintenance projects and to assure that mobile repair vehicles contain adequate parts to allow for normal daily breakdowns. Duties will include collaborating and communicating with supervisors as to optimal and most efficient scheduling and completion of maintenance and repairs. Worker may intermittently perform miscellaneous incidental duties related to general farm work and general cleanup of farm property in the areas around all maintenance and repair locations.
