- Job Duties:
- Blueberry Harvest Duties , Gently, using your thumb, roll the berry off the stem and into your palm. Ideally, once the first berry is picked, you will place it in your bucket or basket and continue in this vein until you have harvested all the blueberries you want. Planting Melons : Plant Melon Sow seeds 1 inch deep in rows, or in hills spaced 6 feet apart. After 2 weeks, thin to 2 plants per hill, then move around vines . Grove Clean-up: Workers may be required to perform miscellaneous grove clean-up work. These activities may included removing debris, boxes, discarded fruit from fields to clean growing area , pruning, painting trees, repair and or replace irrigation equipment , may maintain fence lines. Workers performing grove clean-up work will be paid the adverse effect wage rate, the prevailing rate orhe minimum wage rate,the agreed upon collective bargaining wage or the Federal or State minimum wage which ever is higher, except where a special procedure is approved for an occupation or specific class of agricultural employment.. A copy of the work contract or a copy of the ETA 790 in lieu of a work contract, and any modifications , will be provided to the worker on the day the work commences.
