Possible shift: 8:00AM-5:00PM. 40+ May be possibility of weekend work. Crops: Annuals, Foliage, Greenery, Perennials, Vegetables. Duties may include: pull plastic, grounds keeping of facility, operate farm equipment, clean unload harvested products, grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearances, feel for quality to ensure correct processing and usage. Discard interior or defective products and or foreign matter and place acceptable products in containers for further processing. Weigh/estimate product for weight visually or by feel. place product in containers according to grade and mark grades on containers. Measure weight and county products. Examine and inspect containers, materials to ensure specifications are met. clean and maintain work area, prune trees and shrubbery & other related Nursery Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org). On-the-job training provided. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 60lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. Tools supplies and equipment provided at no cost to worker. Employer guarantees 3/4 of contract. Work outdoors, exposed to weather, hot or cold; hours may vary (+/-); possible downtimes and/or extended hrs. Dependable: fulfill obligations. Attn. to detail: complete work tasks. Employer provided housing available to those who cannot reasonably return to their residence within the same day. No cell phone use during work hours.
Must be able to obtain a drivers license. Must be 18 years of age due to equipment usage and insurance purposes. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/ refusal to abide = dismissal. The drug test will be at the employer's expense.
