Job Duties:

Performs duties like: General lubrication, service (check fluids), and incidental repair to farm equipment. Operate large row crop machinery including 12-row wide row crop implements approximately 40' wide. Attach implements to the tractor. Till soil; general land preparation for planting. Operate a row planter and air seeder. Irrigation duties will include: Operate a back-hoe, check and manage flood irrigation of rice fields. Lay out and use poly pipe for row irrigation; use shovels for installation of rice levee gates as well as clear water drains from fields. Harvest duties to include: operate tractor pulling grain cart to move grain from combine to offload onto big trucks, operate 18 wheeler big truck within a 60 mile radius of the grain bins. Put grain in grain bins and remove grain from grain bins. General farm labor duties. Equipment: 4 wheel drive tractors, 12-row equipment: air seeder, planter, bed conditioner, disc, bed hippers, field cultivators, plow, land-plane, 90 foot self propelled liquid spray rig, back hoe, levee seeder and levee plow, 18 wheeler, grain bin equipment for 12 grain bins with 300,000 bu storage capacity, combine and grain carts, bush hog Crops: Rice, Corn, Wheat, Beans

Special Requirements:

Minimum of 6 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers expense due to the presence of children on the farm. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive walking is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion.
