Job Duties:

Responsible for irrigation cleaning/ repairs, pruning trees, spray chemicals by hand, learn, follow, and promote all safety regulations, planting new trees, shoveling, irrigating, hoeing weeds, cleaning ditches, cleaning trucks, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, perform other tasks and special projects as assigned. General worker needed for Onion, pumpkins, cotton, grains, and chile Pepper farming. Work includes operating of farm equipment, operating of tractors, tractor drawn machinery and self-propelled machinery used to plow, till, harrow, apply fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides to crops; plant, cultivate, and harvest of crops. Clip tops on onions, harvest Billing by hand into buckets and dumped into larger bins. May work in groups to hand plant onions and chile in furrows while walking/following moving wagon. Work also includes field prep, water maintenance, manually plant, cultivate and harvest as required. Field prep includes manual shovel work and hoeing of weeds, spot spray, transplant and general farm labor. Help repair and maintain bins, buildings, equip (all farm, mechanical and vehicle), farm, fences, fields, irrigation, levees, ponds, properties, roads and shop. Clean and load harvested crops, unload trucks, haul to bins, dryer or mill. Worker must be able to lift/carry produce and equipment. Irrigation responsibilities: Must be able to work in the elements, some heavy lifting required. Will assist technician and irrigator in digging and backfilling trenches, installing heads, pumps, and pipe. Candidate Responsibilities and Duties Dig and backfill trenches. Install pipe and pipe connections. Assist irrigation technician in making repairs and alterations. Assist technician in all aspects of day to day assignments.
