- Job Duties:
- Attend to all aspects of a horse breeding operation. Feed, water and care for horses, examine horses to detect illness, injury or disease; handle and administer simple medical treatments such as worm and parasite control and vaccinations. Assist with horse breeding process and care for mares, stallions, foals and babies. Feeding/gentling of foals, work on imprinting doctor babies. Tend to horse facility and grounds, plant and harvest hay for feed, repair facility structures & fences, clean & maintain animal housing areas. May operate motorized vehicles. Involves bending, stooping, lifting, stretching, standing, walking, pushing & pulling and repetitive movements on a frequent basis. Must be able to lift 50lbs often, work in extreme weather conditions. Must be on call 24/7 for animal emergencies. Possibility of performance based raise/bonuses.
