Job Duties:
Mix pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides for application. Fill sprayer tanks with water and chemicals, according to formulas. Lift, push, and swing nozzles, hoses, and tubes to direct spray over designated areas. Cover areas to specified depths with pesticides, applying knowledge of weather conditions, droplet sizes, elevation-to-distance ratios, and obstructions. Start motors and engage machinery, such as sprayer agitators or pumps or portable spray equipment. Connect hoses and nozzles selected according to terrain, distribution pattern requirements, types of infestations, and velocities. Clean or service machinery to ensure operating efficiency, using water, gasoline, lubricants, or hand tools. Provide driving instructions to truck drivers to ensure complete coverage of designated areas, using hand and horn signals. Follow GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. The H-2A Temporary Farm Applicators will perform duties at 2036 Olive Avenue, Chapin, IA 50427 and at unanticipated fields within area of intended of employment including within a 50-mile radius of Chapin, IA in the following counties in Iowa: Butler, Cerro Gordo, Franklin, Floyd, Grundy, Hancock, Hardin, Wright.

Special Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED, or the foreign equivalent 3 months experience working with crops and CDL driving experience required Employer will perform random drug screening post hire at employers expense due to DOT regulations and liability of driving trucks on public roads. Must be able to lift 51-70 lbs. Must be willing to work in extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.), noisy conditions, and conditions that include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards. On-the-job training will be provided. Follow GROWMARKs Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. Able and willing to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARKs policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
