Job Duties:
We are a multi-generational family farm experienced in the production of corn, popcorn, soybeans, hay, and cattle. Planting season starts at the beginning of March followed by the growing season and harvest season completes at the end of November. We need seasonal employee to assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting row crops: Duties to include, but not limited to drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops such as corn, popcorn, hay, soybeans, etc. Operate equipment such as a tractor, front end loader and corn grinder in performing tasks such as hauling hay and manure and grinding crop. Equipment that employees will operate includes but is not limited to tractors, semis, pickup trucks with various implements, tending equipment, planter, toolbar, sprayers, liquid semi-trailer, combine, header, manure spreader, grain cart, disc bine, rake, baler, disk, turbo till, grain augers, tractor with loader, semi tractors, hopper bottom trailers, flatbed trailers, livestock trailers, zero turn lawn mower, chainsaws, trimmers, weed eater, bulldozer, excavator, and backhoe. Attach farm implements to tractor and drive tractor in field to prep, plant, spray, maintain, harvest crop. Duties also include manual labor such as preparing barns, grain bins, preparing land for planting, mechanical repair and maintenance on equipment; changing tires; changing oil; shop cleaning; cleaning grain bins; repairing equipment; power wash, clean, wax equipment; general farm maintenance including mowing with lawn mower, trimming, mowing with large batwing mower, spot spraying, and building repair; vehicle and semi-truck and trailer maintenance; cleaning and washing; grain bin cleaning(shoveling, sweeping, vacuuming, etc); trimming around buildings; and other grounds maintenance activities. Repair fences, buildings and equipment as needed. Fence inspection and maintenance and inspection of working facilities - Lead and assist with new fence construction. During the summer employees will need to assist in the process of weaning of summer calves. Assist in the process of moving and treating spring cattle to summer pastures. Operate equipment to mow and maintain pastures and farm properties. Farm record keeping feed/hay distribution, equipment maintenance, hauling crop. Mow, rake, bale, and transport forage crops. Drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator, field, farms, and or storage. Workers will assist in the construction of agriculture buildings on farms including but not limited to pole/steel barns, hoop barns, grain elevators, grain silos. Handy man skills like wood working, electrical, wiring, fabricating, metal work, etc. *** Please note that in 2023 and all future application our starting date will move to March 1 to cover our entire crop season.
