The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
May: till and fertilize row crop ground for soybean planting, plant soybeans, receive and wean stocker calves for grazing summer pastures, feed, deworm and vaccinate stockers, inspect and repair fences, hand weed thistles; June: fertilize summer pastures and hay fields, feed stocker calves, mechanical weeding of soybean fields, drain soybean fields and pasture, cut, rake and bale hay; July-September: produce hay, weed fields, repair fences, harvest soybeans, brushog pastures, prepare land; October-November: plant wheat, make final cutting of hay, harvest pecans, fertilize and weed wheat, drain fields; December-January: move stockers to wheat pasture, check and doctor stockers daily, clean equipment from soybean harvest, clean pecans; February: pull stockers off wheat pasture at hollow stem to be sold, service and winterize equipment and place into storage; driving farm vehicle; minor daily and incidental upkeep to equipment and worksite.
