Job Duties:

Workers will perform general field duties to include but not limited to irrigation (will be in charge of checking irrigation system, and irrigation schedule), laying plastic, putting, and pulling tape out, cleaning ditches, fixing fences, fixing leaks, weeding onion, general farm cleaning (picking trash from fields and roads), chili and watermelon fields, and guiding watermelon vines. Workers will be harvesting watermelons, jalapenos, bell peppers, tomatoes, chili, zucchini, and other squash (for example, pumpkins). Will also work in shed dumping and placing melons on production line to start packing process. Clean, sort, and package watermelons in boxes. All employees will assist with cleaning duties at the end of the shift. Able to lift 30 lbs. and work in all types of weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, moisture, and dust). Days and hours will vary (+/-); possible down times and/or extended hours. Will assist with spraying chemical duties, with training and all safety protocols to follow. Must be able to drive the proper equipment. Knowledge of this type of work is required. Watermelon cutters must show responsibility and production at the time of harvesting. Morrow Farms depends on time to fulfill its customers (for example, Walmart) in a daily basis, it is important to know that our daily goal must be completed on time. Employees will assist with restrooms and shade hailing duties along with helping refill the water coolers. Farm/shed work knowledge required. All applicants must be able, willing, and qualified to perform duties described and must be available for the entire period specified and work in intended area of employment. Employer will provide all tools required for the job duties listed. The use of Cellphones during work is prohibited, agriculture jobs need employees to be always alerted to avoid/prevent incidents. Drug, alcohol, and tobacco-free work zone: The use or possession or being under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol during the contract time is prohibited. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. Employer will request to conduct drug and alcohol screening tests during the contract period. All expenses will be paid by Morrow Farms.

All workers must follow health and safety requirements such as face masks, gloves, no use of cellphones while working, no jewelry allowed are other as designated. Note** We provide face covering, and gloves. Field workers will be exposed to outdoor conditions. They should dress appropriately for warm weather, for example, layer clothing, head protection such as hats, proper footwear for working in field conditions.
