- EMPLOYEES WILL WORK IN TOBACCO, COTTON AND PEANUT FIELDS. THEY WILL ALSO WORK IN TOBACCO CURING BARNS AND GRADING ROOM. THEY WILL TOP SUCKER, HARVEST LEAVES AND REMOVE WEEDS FROM TOBACCO FIELDS. THEY WILL CLEAN AND DO FIELD MAINTENANCE LIKE HOEING, RAKING, LAY AND PICK UP IRRIGATION PIPE AND CAMP SANITATION IN AND AROUND COTTON AND PEANUT FIELDS. THEY WILL REMOVE WEEDS FROM COTTON AND PEANUT FIELDS. ALSO DURING PERIODS OF WE WEATHER CONDITIONS WORKERS WILL DIG DRAINAGE DITCHES BY HAND AND WITH A SHOVEL OR HOE TO REMOVE EXCESS WATER FROM THE FIELDS. THEY WILL LOAD HARVESTED LEAVES OF TOBACCO INTO CURING BINS AT BARNS FOR THE TOBACCO TO BE DRIED OUT AND CURED. AFTER THE CURING PROCESS IS COMPLETED WORKERS WILL UNLOAD TOBACCO FROM CURING BINS AND GRADE THROUGH THE LEAVES REMOVING ANY UNDESIRED LEAVES AND FOREIGN MATERIAL BEFORE LOADING THE LEAVES INTO A BALER TO BE COMPRESSED INTO A BALES. WORKERS WILL ASSIST IN LOADING TRAILERS WITH TOBACCO BALES FOR DELIVERY. ALL OF THIS WORK WILL BE DONE UNDER EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS (HIGH HUMIDITY, HOT TEMPERATURES). EXCESSIVE BENDING OVER AND LIFTING OF UP TO 52LBS WILL BE INVOLVED ON A DAILY BASIS.

- 52LB LIFTING TRAINING WITH EMPLOYER HEAVY BENDING AND STOOPING REPETITIVE MOVEMENTS 2 DAY TRAINING WITH EMPLOYER. The training period for all crop activities is 2 days starting with the first day of employment to acclimate the worker to the physical demands of farm work and to familiarize workers with the job specifications and to demonstrate proper harvest methods and other crop specific issues.
