Job Duties:
Performs variety of farm duties as directed. Operating large farm equipment and machinery. Range improvements, and livestock equipment for proper cattle management. Clean all livestock stalls using brushes, and shovels. Maintain shop, milking facility, animal housing facilities. Monitor herd for health changes and report any changes in health to supervisor. Assist in taking cows safely to and from pastures during the grazing season. Assist in taking cows to and from parlor for milking. Mowing of pastures and around facilities. Communicate with the farm manager regarding the condition of the pasture and the rotational schedule during grazing season. Treat individual animals and provide for down animals as required by protocol. Wean calves, vaccinations, mastitis, and pregnancy cow checks. Workers must be willing and able to perform all duties according to the employers requirements during the contract period. Must have knowledge of building and repair of fence and sprinkler irrigation knowledge and management. Workers will be expected to work in conditions normally associated with Oklahoma climatic conditions, which may include, at times, dusty conditions, wind, extreme heat, etc. Lifting requirement of 50 pounds, plus extensive walking and frequent stooping come as part of the position. Attend to live ranch animals, performing assigned duties that may include cleaning and maintaining animal housing areas using power washers, handling hay, helping with irrigation, fence repair, and assigned general ranch work. Keep up with daily maintenance and repairs on farm. Fill feed troughs with feed and waters livestock. Examines animals to detect diseases and injuries, vaccinates animals. May maintain ranch buildings and equipment. Assist in harvesting and transport of crops and daily farm maintenance. Must be a team player who is willing to cooperate with others. Must be able to accept corrective criticism from supervisor. The employer will provide the tools necessary to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker.
