Job Duties:

General Farm Labor: 1. Worker will move irrigation pipes that weigh up to 60 pounds. Worker must be able to stack irrigation pipes on trailers. 2. Worker will be required to weed celery and corn fields by hand. Worker will be required to identify and remove undesired plants, without causing harm to or removing adjacent celery or corn plant. 3. Worker will be required to stoop, bend, and work on hands and knees for long periods of time. 4. Worker will be required to sweep, clean, and pick up trash, sticks, or rocks, then dispose of properly around farm property. 5. Worker will use a shovel to dig, clean, and help maintain trenches through the fields designed to drain excess water. 6. Worker may be required to safely drive tractor around farm property. Worker will be trained on safe operation of tractors. 7. Worker will be required to stoop, bend, and lift up to 60 pounds repetitively throughout the day. Worker must wear suitable clothing to handle wet product and conditions. 8. Bus Driving: If worker is eligible to drive under Michigan law and provides proof of no infractions from official source, Employer may require worker to drive Employer-provided vehicle to and from the worksite and to locations within 30 miles as directed. Pay will be hourly.

Special Requirements:

Job requires worker to complete tasks in general farm labor, hand harvest of celery and sweet corn. Experience Requirement: 2 verifiable months commercial celery experience required. Applicants must furnish job references from employers of the last 5 years establishing acceptable prior experience. Drug testing not utilized as pre-employment tool. See work rules for more information regarding post-employment drug testing.
