- Job Duties:
- Workers will perform various tasks for employers as listed on their contract.
Crops: Asparagus, Beets, Carrots, Cucumbers, Cabbage, Celery, Celeriac, Fennel, Kohlrabi, Winter Squash, Zucchini, Tomatoes, Peppers, Onions, Shallots, Sweet Corn, Indian Corn, Gourds, Pumpkins, Picking Cucumbers, Broccoli, Pumpkins, Pickles, Green Beans and other vegetables.
Workers will plant, cultivate, and harvest employer’s crops. Workers will perform support duties such as preparing fields and for planting, picking, washing, package, stacking, loading produce, hoeing, weeding, setting up and taking down irrigation, installation and removal of tomato stakes, stringing tomatoes, and removing plastic. Workers will be required to do general daily cleaning such as washing crates, sweeping floors in work areas, scrubbing the floor area, picking up unused packaging and pallets and any other activities for harvest. Picking apples and sorting apples and other vegetables. Picking corn, packing shed, husking corn in packing shed, field harvest of all crops, and cleaning crops. General field clean-up such as, weeding, rock pick up, and digging drainage ditches. Workers will perform general farm cleanup and maintenance such as power washing barns, painting, fence repair, and other duties on the farm. Workers will operate tractors and farm vehicles on the farm as an incidental activity. Works will perform general greenhouse duties.
Farm Equipment Operation: Workers may be required to operate farm equipment during daily operations, as an incidental activity. Before any worker is required to operate any farm equipment, workers will be instructed in the safety and operation of the tractor before driving the tractor. Tractors should be driven in a manner to protect operator, other workers, products, trees, crops, and equipment. Repeated failure to obey safety requirements and operating instructions may result in termination.
