Job Duties:

General Laborer: ELIMINATOR: Remove the rotten and defect apples. Empty 30lb bucket of rotten apples into trash bin. Remove foreign materials. PACKER: Classify the apples according to color. Turn the color side of the apple up. Align the apple in the trays. Verify tray and apple size are correct. Remove defects. BOX FILLER: Place package of apples in the correct box. Follow correct package pattern. Insert pads following correct pattern. Put bar code sticker on box. Place the box on the rollers. BOX SEGREGATER: Work in a cold environment. Ability to work at a constant and rapid pace. Lift up to 60lbs continuously throughout the shift. Stack the box on a pallet using the correct stacking pattern. Identify box issues. PALLET STRAPPER: Work in a cold environment. Verify boxes are on the correct pallet. Utilize proper corner boards. Use strapper tool following proper procedures. Use proper technique to shrink wrap pallet. Attach pallet stacking aids as needed. BAG MACHINE OPERATOR: Load bags onto machine. Load correct clips. Adjust machine for weight settings. Set machine speed. Monitor machine for issues. Clean machine as needed. BOX MACHINE OPERATOR: Verify machine is operable. Monitor machine for issues. Utilize proper shook for each respective machine. Ability to lift up to 60lbs of shook onto the machine. Keep machine stocked with glue. Load boxes onto conveyor. Remove boxes from conveyor. Use electric pallet jack to move supplies. Operate recycle baler. TRAY DENESTER MACHINE OPERATOR: Verify the machines are functioning. Use correct tray for appropriate size. Ability to load or unload denester with up to 60lbs of trays. Manage tray supply inventory. Use hand cart to move tray supplies to and from denester. CLEANING: Pick up large solids (Apples, Trash, Paper, Cardboard). Sweep up small solids (Stems, leaves). Remove stickers from equipment. Spray or wipe belts with soap. Scrub with pad or rag. Rinse with clean wet towel. Wipe dry with clean towel. Spray on sanitizer. Mop the floor. Vacuum dry brushes. Wipe dry brushes. Spray sanitizer on brushes. SANITATION: Dry pick up of large solids (Apples). Sweep up small solids (Stems, leaves). Pre-rinse (High Pressure) brushes. Apply foaming soap. Scrub with brush, pads, or rags. Rinse with low pressure water. Apply sanitizer. Mop up floors. See Addendum C

Special Requirements:

This job opportunity requires 3 months of agricultural experience. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Agricultural handling work begins at the assigned time. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors depending on the task. The worker may be required to work in a warm room environment, cold room environment, or outdoors as needed. Workers may be required to lift or load up to 60lbs continually. The Worker may never ride on equipment not designed for work-related riding purposes or any other non-passenger intended equipment unless instructed and authorized by the employer or supervisor to do so. All work-related injuries must be immediately reported to the crew leader, foreman, or supervisor. Workers' compensation claims may be presented to any medical provider, through your employer or state agency if applicable. See Addendum C for more information.
