- Assisting in breeding herd Oct-Nov; assisting and delivering feed supplements during peak winter cold Nov-Jan; Monitoring water bunks to ensure they have not frozen over, pushing snow, maintaining animal bedding for warmth Nov-Jan; Calving of herd while Jan-May; Weaning of winter beef calves from cows March-April; Assisting in breeding April-May; May have to work nights, possibly weekends. Employer may request but cannot require workers to work on their Sabbath; rate of pay may be more depending on experience.
