The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
Heavy equipment operator. The workers will be operating heavy equipment such as excavators, soil compactors, bulldozers, backhoes, skid steers, and shovels. Responsibilities include operating farm equipment, driving tractors, semis, and pickup trucks. Workers will be hauling equipment and grain with semis and dump trucks in addition to doing general manual labor such as leveling dirt, rock, and sand. Workers must be able to lift 75 lbs. This is an active position that requires the workers to be outdoors in all weather elements for our area.
