- Job Duties:
- Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. If operating a company vehicle during the period of employment the driver must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the United States or foreign equivalent license to operate the company vehicle in accordance with license restrictions and vehicle classification applicable to that license. The job requires workers to: supervise general farm laborers/harvesters to assure jobs are completed in accordance with company policies, report any issues to Employer management, inspect produce for quality control and utilize production tracking system.
The bus driver/supervisor will transport workers to and from work-sites from employer provided housing, assist with supervising workers, while assisting with fieldwork activities as necessary. Twenty-five percent of the workers responsibilities will consist of transporting workers using a specified route on specific schedules depending upon production needs. The role of the bus driver/supervisor will require adherence to DOT safety regulations, safe vehicle maintenance, as well as several farm responsibilities while not transporting workers during work shift. Workers are required to take workers once a week to the bank, grocery store, and to the laundromat.
Five percent of the worker responsibilities may be comprised of inspecting a vehicle, checking gas, oil, and water levels. Reporting and coordinating minor repairs to vehicles such as changing tires, and following all maintenance-scheduled requirements. Fifteen percent of the workers time encompass completing daily logs to document all passengers, mileage driven, vehicle inspections, use of gas cards, GPS and vehicle as specified by program, as well as reporting all safety incidents.
Supervision: The worker will be responsible for supervising workers in the farm laborer/hand harvester position. During crop harvest season. The employer will assign worker to a crew of harvest team members, who the worker will directly supervise. Team members will vary from day to
day, and can change throughout day depending on the employers needs and crop conditions.
Drivers must follow specific routes according to times and schedules indicated by field supervisors/managers. Each worker must comply with DOT safety guidelines and traffic regulation for vehicle operation to ensure passenger and vehicle safety. It is essential that drivers safeguard
passengers confirming each are seated while following safety practices during vehicle operation, regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort. Drivers are required to report delays and accidents immediately. Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age, have at least twelve (12) months of bus driving experience, obtain and maintain the required driver’s license, clean driving record, are able to pass criminal background check, and DOT required medical exam.
Bus transportation: The employee will transport workers from the employer provided housing to the farm and from the farm back to the employer provided housing. The worker will also transport workers to the grocery store, banking facility, and laundromat at least once weekly.
Field Walking: The employee will assist with the supervision of a crew of farm workers to review the performance of the workers, making certain all the workers have the EPP.
Weeding: Workers will remove weeds by use of a hoe from the walk-way and remove all weeds growing around trees. Workers will remove weeds from the growing area, by raking piles of debris and dispose of it as instructed.
