Job Duties:
Labor needed to support sweet potato storage season. Duties includes: 1. Monitor sweet potato inventory for quality concerns and address concerns with site manager 2. Monitor sweet potato inventory and forecast use per BGF customer needs 3. Reduce sweet potato shrink in storage through storage best management practices 4. Handle sweet potatoes in storage in a manner that reduces damage and multiple moves. 5. Communicate sweet potato inventory to farm manager and packaging supervisor. 6. Ensure site resource needs are applied efficiently and unneeded expenses are eliminated. 7. Communicate with the field crew to prepare storage for the sweet potatoes being harvested and move into storage. 8. Repair, clean, and maintain storage bins, as well as direct others performing these duties. 9. Follow food safety guidelines. 10. Move sweet potatoes from storage to be packaged. 11. Prepare reports and share information regarding storage sweet potatoes. 12. Repair, maintain and operate equipment as well as other farm and agriculture duties. 13. Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook. All tools will be provided at no cost.
