Job Duties:

TOMATO PICKER: Worker will harvest tomatoes by hand Worker will walk down the tomato field rows and locate tomatoes ready to be harvested. Worker will twist off the tomato form the vine and place the tomato into a bucket and repeat this process until the bucket is full. When the bucket becomes full, weighing from 20-60 pounds, the worker will carry the bucket to a field truck where he will then toss the full bucket to a worker on top of the field truck (DUMPER) and retrieve a ticket in return as well as an empty bucket to repeat the harvest process. TOMATO DUMPER: Dumper will be stationed on the back of a field truck where worker will catch the full tomato bucket weighing from 20-60 pounds, and dump the tomatoes into tomato bins. Dumper will provide the picker with a ticket and empty bucket once full bucket has been dumped and will repeat this process until bins are full. Pickers and Dumpers must be able to walk and/or stand for long periods of time, bend continuously, lift between 20-60 pounds, and must be able to withstand long periods of sun and heat exposure. SQUASH: PICKER HARVESTING SQUASH BY HAND, THE WORKER WILL WALK DOWN THE SQUASH FIELD ROWS WHERE THE SQUASH WILL BE HARVESTED.THE WORKER WILL FIRST LOCATE THE RIPE SQUASH, THE WORKER WILL PULL THE SQUASH OFF THE VINE AND PLACE THE SQUASH IN A BUCKET UNTIL THE BUCKET IS FULL. THE FULL BUCKET CAN VARY IN WEIGHT FROM 20-60 POUNDS, THE WORKER MUST THEN TOSS THE BUSCKET UP TO A WORKER ON TOP OF ATRUCK WHO THEN DUMPS THE BUCKET INTO A BIN AND THIS IS REPEATED UNTIL THE BIN IS FULL AND REPEATED THROUGHOUT THE DAY. THE WORKER ON TOP OF THE TRUCK, THE DUMPER, WILL CATCH THE FULL BUCKET, THAT CAN VERY IN WEIGHT FROM 20-60 POUNDS, AND DUMP THE SQUASH INTO THE BIN TO WASH THE SQUASH WITH WATER AND SOAP AND FINALLY PACK INTO BOXES. The worker in order to perform this kind of work must be able to work outside for at least 6 hours a day in all kinds of weather and be in possession of the requisite physical strength and endurance to repeat the picking process rapidly, the employer will provide the tools necessary to perform the described job duties without charge to the worker. The employer will charge the worker for reasonable costs related to the workers refusal or negligent failure to return the tools or due to such workers willful damage or destruction of the tools. Note: The packing house is located inside the Farm and more than 50% of the product processed is produced by the Fixed Site Employer. Employees may volunteer to work additional hours when work is available. Workers should expect occasional periods of little or no work because of weather, crop or other conditions beyond the employers control. These periods can occur any time throughout the season A copy of the work contract or a copy of the ETA 790 in lieu of a work contract, and any modifications, will be provided to the H-2A worker no later than the time at which the worker applies for the Visa, or to a worker in corresponding employment, no later than on the day work commences. For an H-2A worker going from an H-2A employer to a subsequent H-2A employer, a copy of the contract will be provided no later than the time an offer of employment is made by the subsequent H-2A employer. Special Requirements:

This type of work, involves working conditions that require tremendous stamina, a high level of physical activity in cold or extremely hot conditions in direct sunlight and in adverse weather such as rain. The work requires a high level of physical conditioning. Due to the type of work involved, there is a Probationary Period of five (5) days beginning with the first day of employment, to show possession of the requisite physical strength and endurance to perform this type of work.
