- Temporary, seasonal workers needed during crawfish and rice seasons. Duties for crawfish include crawfishing in boats, catching crawfish, performing crawfishing duties in fields; manually cutting up bait, washing crawfish, picking up sacks; tagging sacks for shipment, making repairs to boat as needed; water maint., manual shovel work. Duties for rice include tractor, equipment, truck driving; field prep., plant/harvest crops; hoe weeds; spot spray; repair/maint. of equip., vehicles and buildings; load/unload trucks; general farm labor; job involves frequent stooping; driver's license required; must be able to lift 50 lbs.; exposure to extreme temps; drug screening upon hire (paid for by employer); must have 3 months experience in similar position. Base hours offered is 40 hours offered; overtime hours are usually offered during plentiful season and may include an additional 10-40 hours of overtime work depending on the nature of the season; higher wage may be paid based on experience.
