The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
Assist with all aspects of on-site crop production for use in cattle feed, including planting, fertilizing, irrigating, and harvesting alfalfa crops; dispersing seeds and fertilizer; Maintaining irrigation ditches, including controlling irrigation lines, irrigation diversions, keeping water flowing, and keeping irrigation ditches clean and free of debris or trash; Watering and irrigating fields, including setting tarps, shoveling dirt or soil to hold tarps in place, using hand tools, shovels, pitch forks, hoes, & pruning saws, using machinery, weed eaters, mowers, chainsaws; Maintenance at irrigator?s housing, shop, & barn locations, cleaning of manure & weeds around various locations such as headquarter, corrals, horse barn, entry gates, & office; Operating movers, trimmers, & their maintenance; Lawn & yard Maintenance; Weed eradication & application of weed spray, and chopping weeds from fields where cattle feed is grown; Maintaining farm machinery in good operation, including changing oil and filters, and repair of broken and worn parts.
