The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
Transplant or pot trees, landscape shrubs, perennials, woody ornamentals, roses and ornamental grasses using hand garden tools and equipment. Prepare plant containers (fill with dirt), planting areas, (remove weeds etc.), greenhouses and fields. Move 1 gal. 15 gal. containers of shrubs, plants and trees to growing area and space (place specified distance apart) as directed. Spray, weed, fertilize, water, prune, shape, count and check plants, shrubs and trees. Load and unload mulch, soil, fertilizer and other materials to condition soil using carts, shovels, wheelbarrows, forklifts and tractors. Regulate, maintain and repair irrigation systems. Examine plants for insects or disease. Market preparation: tie, bunch, wrap, price, tag; select/pack products to fill orders, move/stack stock to storage areas. Assist and load plant orders and landscape materials for customers. Load/unload trucks. Clean work areas and maintain groundspick up trash, clean and store equipment etc.

Special Requirements:
Able to drive tractor, forklift. Able to operate weed eaters, mowers, hedge trimmers, posthole diggers, power tools. Use shovels, hoes, pruning shears. Work inside and outside in various weather conditions (100-degree temp., light rain). Able to perform physically demanding job duties (standing/stooping, bending for long periods), Must be available for the entire contract period and able to perform all job duties. Applicants meeting all qualifications required must possess documents to complete INS Form I-9 and be available at the time and place necessary to begin employment. "In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire." Random drug test post hiring, for cause testing, post-accident testing. Drug testing will be conducted at employer's expense.
