IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING WAGES FOR TEMPORARY AGRICULTURAL JOBS
The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Crawfishing involves manually cutting up of fish bait, baiting of traps; operate paddle crawfish boats; frequent stooping, repetitive movements and lifting traps from pond, lifting requirement of 50 lbs., deliver crawfish to crawfish plant, check for broken levees and repair if needed and working outside in inclement weather conditions. General upkeep & maintenance of farm & equipment; Rice/Row Crop (soybeans, milo, corn) to include: drive tractor (plowing), assist loading & unloading trucks & transport to local plants, assist planting of rice, upkeep of rice bins to include sweeping, shoveling rice, spreading rice in bins, cleaning up rice spills, leveling bins. Sugarcane includes: tractor driving, de-weeding by hand; Hay includes tractor driving (shreading & plowing) Housing provided on the premises at no cost. All tools, supplies & equipment are provided at no cost. Transportation & subsistence expenses to the worksite will be paid by the employer upon completion of 50% of the work contract. Employees may make above hourly wage and/or receive bonuses based on work performance and experience. Must have legal authority to work within the United States.
