Job Duties:

General worker for beans, cattle, crawfish, hay, milo, ryegrass and bins. Work includes operating farm equip, tractor driving, field prep, water maint, fertilize, plant and harvest of crops. Field prep includes operate farm equip, manual shovel work and hoeing of weeds, spot spray and gen farm labor. May operate motorized crawfish boat and/or walk/push boat. Crawfishing involves manually cutting up of fish bait, set traps, bait and check traps. Grade, may purge, wash, sack and ice crawfish for shipment, make and repair traps as needed. Pickup/deliver crawfish as required. May deliver crops to coolers or market. Help repair and maintain bins, buildings, cattle, corrals, equip (and change oil, filters and gas), farm, fences, field, levees, pastures, ponds, properties, roads, shed, shop and water troughs. Load and unload. Help maintain headlands and grounds, keeping neat and clean. Manually clean, tear down and erect miles of fence, hauling and feeding hay, assist in calving, clean stalls, water and feed, assist with gates, count heads, and brand. Haul to bins for drying, clean, shovel and level bins. Worker must be able to lift/carry 70 lbs. M-F, some Sat/Sun, OT varies. Employees may be compensated above the stated hr wage, this decision to pay above the prevailing hr wage will be made by the employer, basing this decision on factors that include the individual recipient's performance and work history. Allergies to ragweed, goldenrod, insect spray and related chemicals and pesticides, etc. may affect workers? ability to perform the job. Employer may require post hire, random, upon suspicion or post accident drug testing, all at no cost to employee. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination. Job involves stooping, lifting and working outside in inclement weather. Must have 3 mo exp in similar position. ** Please note that our normal seasonal need is Feb 1 - Nov 30th yearly, we were late applying for this our first season (last year) as we were unaware of the time requirements for application. All future applications will have the February 1 - Nov 30th yearly dates of need.** Thank you.
