Job Duties:

This employee must be able to perform duties such as: drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil; plant and cultivate grain. Use fertilizer rig pulled behind a tractor to fertilize fields. Employee will be able to help maintain pivot irrigation systems, such as changing tires, fixing nozzles, and troubleshooting breakdowns on the system. Must be able to learn our grain bagging and grain bin storage system, including the use of a grain auger and leg, as well as the use of our grain bag loader and unloader. These skills will be taught. Must be able to tow harvesting equipment and drive and operate combine and the grain cart. Must be able to apply general lubrication, service (check fluids) and mechanical repair to farm machinery. This employee will drive grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area. The job will include maintenance/mowing/trimming of grass around farmsteads and fields with a lawnmower or small tractor. Employee will also be able to run a forklift in our shop and help with maintenance of all farm shop buildings. Special Requirements:

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a CDL within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post-hire at employers' expense due to the liability of driving trucks on public roads. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. CDL preferred. Must be proficient at reading. It would be preferable that the workers could be trained to run a large John Deere spraying rig Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive walking is required. Repetitive movements is required. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience.
