Job Duties:

Drives and operates farm machines equipped with GPS to perform specified farm activities like plant, cultivate, harvest, store crops such as wheat, cotton, silage, watermelon, pumpkins; Hitches soil conditioning implement, such as plow, cultivator, harrow to tractor, and operates to furrow and cultivate soil; Drives tractor and operates designated towed machine, such as seed drill or planter, to plant, fertilize crops; Tends sprinkler system that irrigates land; Observes sprinklers to ensure uniform distribution of water to all areas; Prepares harvesting machine by adjusting speeds of cutters, blowers, and conveyors and height of cutting head or depth of digging blades according to type, height, weight, and condition of crop being harvested, and contour of terrain; Drives self-propelled harvesting machine to cut, thresh, clean, store crops; Refuels engine, lubricates machine parts, and monitors machine operation in the field to ensure optimum performance; Driving farm vehicle; Minor daily and incidental upkeep to equipment and worksite.
