The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
Manually plant, cultivate, and harvest fruits and viticultural specialties. Use hand tools, such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, and knives. Duties may include tilling soil, mulching and applying fertilizers; planting, transplanting, weeding, trimming, leaf pulling, shoot thinning, or pruning crops; harvesting products; or cleaning, grading, and loading harvested products. May construct and repair trellises, repair fences and farm buildings, or participate in irrigation activities. May assist with cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment.
