- Job Duties:
- Operates large farm equipment and machinery much of which is equipped primarily with Greenstar GPS such as tractors, sprayers, module builders, tillage implements for cultivating, tilling, fertilizing, planting, and harvesting grain and oilseed crops such as corn, cotton, soybeans; Operates tractor and towed implement to furrow and cultivate soil; Drives tractor and operates seed drill or planter to plant crops; Assisting with the installation, operation, and maintenance of irrigation systems, pivot and poly pipe, for watering crops; Lays out poly along designated settings in field; Observes irrigation to ensure uniform distribution of water to all areas; Disassembles system and moves it to next location after specified time intervals; Drives truck or tractor with trailer attached to move crops or equipment to designated locations; Unload crops onto conveyor to storage locations or elevators; Prepares harvesting machine by adjusting speeds of cutters, blowers, and conveyors and height of cutting head or depth of digging blades according to type, height, weight, and condition of crop being harvested, and contour of terrain; Perform routine repairs and maintenance to machinery in the field; Drives self-propelled harvesting machine such as combines and pickers to cut, thresh, clean, store crops; Drives farm vehicle; Minor daily and incidental upkeep to equipment and worksite.
