The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
Workers will perform a variety of manual tasks in the planting, cultivating, and harvesting of rice, corn and soybeans. Workers may participate in irrigation, field cleaning, and maintenance. They will also do repair work on equipment such as irrigation systems and other farm equipment such as combines. Keep turnrows firm, smooth, and free of tall grass. They will also operate tractors, combines, and any other normal equipment related to the planting, cultivating, and harvesting of crops. 3 months experience hand harvesting and farm equipment operation.
