IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING WAGES FOR TEMPORARY AGRICULTURAL JOBS

The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. This application encompasses: the production of onions, sweet potatoes, asparagus, beans, corn, sugar beets, mint, hemp, and row crops. Worker must possess a valid drivers license and be insurable and may transport workers, crop and equipment. The lifting requirement is 50 lbs. Anything over 50 lbs, the worker may ask for assistance in lifting.
