- NORTH CAROLINA HARVESTING LLC.FLC, (190) Temporary Agricultural Workers for North Carolina in (Nash, Wilson, Wayne, Johnston, and Edgecombe Counties) from 04/10/2023 to 11/20/2023. Planting Sweet Potatoes, Harvesting Sweet Potatoes, Planting, setting Tobacco, topping Tobacco suckers, and Picking Cucumbers. Workers will also be pulling weeds, raking, and Clear up rows where plantings are. Tobacco topping and suckering must begin as soon as the uppermost reapable leaf is of such a size that it will not be damaged by the topping operation. Topping will enable the plant to produce good quality and heavy-bodied darker tobacco leaf that matures more uniformly. Workers will plant sweet potato and set sweet potato. When time to harvest, will harvest by hand and by machine. Workers will harvest sweet potato and cucumbers, and place in 5/8 bucket. Prolonged walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Job is outdoor and continues in all types of weather. Able to lift and carry 75 pounds repetitively throughout the workday. The use or possession or being under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol during working time is prohibited. Worker may be requested to submit to random drug or alcohol testing at no cost to the worker. Failure to comply with the request or testing positive may result in immediate termination. Requires 1 months of verifiable work experience manual harvesting. $0.60 per 5/8 Bucket or equivalent/Sweet Potato, $1.00 per 5/8 Bucket or equivalent/Cucumbers, $14.91/hour, 35 hours a week. Will Provide daily transportation round trips to and from housing to the work-site location, at no cost to the workers. Housing provided at no cost to workers who cannot reasonably return own residency daily. The tools are provided by the employer at no cost to workers. 3/4 scheduled working hours guaranteed. Transport/subsistence reimbursed for the costs incurred by reporting to the workplace if the worker completes half the period of employment. Return Transportation Refunded if the worker terminates the contract. The employer understands that the Fair Labor Standards Act applies independently of the H-2A requirements and imposes. Obligations on employers regarding payment of wages. 20 CFR 655.122(h)(1).
