- Job Duties:
- March-May: tender potato, corn seed and tomato plants to the field, load seed into planters, calibrate and operate John Deere tractors with precision GPS (Greenstar) for planting potatoes, seed corn, and tomatoes; June-July: control irrigation to water crops in warm weather, scout fields to assess crop maturity, pest presence, and nutrient requirements; July-November: operate Lenco and Spudnik harvesters to harvest potatoes at correct moisture content, operate PIC Rite 290 harvester for harvesting tomatoes, operate Caterpillar front end loaders, move potatoes and corn to storage.
