The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
Workers will be operating a packing press console, assisting with tying, bagging and sampling cotton bales, keeping machines loaded with strapping and bagging supplies, untarping cotton modules and manually folding and rolling large tarps, keeping work area clean and maintain and service machines, raking module storage yard, using machinery to move, stack and store baled cotton & load trucks for shipment. Some workers will maintain, repair and update equipment. Workers must be able to lift 50 lbs. and have 3 months of general farming experience working with heavy equipment.
