Job Duties:
Workers will perform duties associated with and directly to strawberry harvesting. Work will include but not limited to picking and packing strawberries, weeding, thinning strawberry plants in the field for fresh market and process market. Workers are required to distinguish the quality and ripeness of the strawberry and properly place in tray/packaging containers in the fields. When containers are packed, they will be placed on the side of row crop stacked. Truck drivers will pick up for delivery. Work requires walking, bending and repetitive wrist movement. Workers must be able to lift 50 lbs. The weather is moderate to cold. Workers must have 1 month experience. All tools necessary for picking and performing duties will be provided. On occasions employees will be asked to do weeding. Long handle hoe with a length of 4 feet or more will be used. On occasions strawberry plants might need weeding plant "runner" cutting. Employees will be provided scissors or necessary tools to perform this job. All guidelines of section 3203 will be applied. This is only occasional work. Pacific Coast Farms LLC will abide by 8 California Code Regulations Section 3456 (b-c). Strawberry picking will be done by hand. Workers will be provided with a box cart that worker will push across the row crop where box(20"x10") will sit on top. Strawberries will be packed in clamshells consisting of 1lb, 2lb or pint baskets depending on shippers orders for the day. Workers will pick ripped, full color strawberries. Workers must be able to identify ripped strawberries. Once box is full, workers will take box and stack them on edge of field for pick up. All packaging materials will be on site the morning of picking ready for the workers. All tools needed for picking will be provided by employer. CA TAX ID 141-0648-8

Special Requirements:
Workers must have at least one month of strawberry picking experience. If necessary, training will be provided. This training will be fruit selection based on color, ripeness, size, and quality. In this training, workers will be shown how to identify ripened strawberries and company packaging requirements.
