The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
Workers on this application will be on farms, hand weeding a variety of crops in fields such as corn and soybeans. Duties will include assisting in the detasseling of corn plants and roguing corn plants (removing plants with undesirable characteristics from the fields). Additional duties will include removing weeds, rocks, and sticks from the rows of crops. Workers will walk and weed the fields as well, using garden hoes to remove unwanted weeds. Each worker will be responsible for their own rows of crops on the farm. Tools used will be garden hoes and machetes.

Must be willing to work on feet in bent, stooped, and crouched positions for long periods of time. Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking.
