Job Duties:

Tobacco duties-to include but not limited to; setting, chopping, topping, oiling, cutting, housing, stripping, packaging/preparing tobacco for sales. Workers will be trained for two days(14 hours) after which the worker will be expected to perform all duties. Workers will be expected to cut and spike 100 sticks of tobacco per hour. Does not include dropping sticks. Workers will be required to cut & carry wood into barns to fire dark fired tobacco. Wooden slabs covered with sawdust and placed under the tobacco that is hanging in the barn. Slabs are then fired to smoke the tobacco and is repeated until the tobacco becomes the correct color. Workers will remove remaining ashes after tobacco is fired. Worker will be required to lift 80 pounds overhead. Workers may drive and operate machinery in all tobacco related duties. Row crop- duties include but not limited to; workers may drive and operate machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest, and store grain crops such as corn, wheat, soybeans, straw, hay ,etc.
