- Job Duties:
- Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. Workers will perform general blueberry field & farm labor/maintenance. Machine harvester workers must handle and sort berries on machine. Workers may also work in the packing house to grade, sort, or classify berries by size, weight, color, or condition. May prune and remove debris/brush. May cut limbs, pile sticks, pickup roots, and burn debris. The workers will be riding, pruning, weeding, hoeing, cleaning, sorting, stacking, boxing, carrying, picking, dumping, folding, grading, sweeping, selecting, labeling, manually changing and dumping lugs and sanitizing on the blueberry farm. Workers will also be raking, laying plastic, removing plastic, staking, stringing, cleaning areas around the farm. Operating forklifts to load and unload blueberry lugs. Stacking empty lugs and pallets on the back of the agricultural equipment for fields harvesters. Inspect field irrigation systems, replace damaged pipes, valves, water jets, sprinklers, etc. using necessary equipment. May construct trellises, repair farm fences, buildings replace damaged posts using wire stretchers, hammers, paint, brushes, etc. Load mulch on trailer and move to fields, unload and spread mulch around plants as needed. Inspect the field to maintain a 3 to 5 foot weed free strip between rows by removing weeds, grass, etc. Workers will be trained on applying fertilizers and pesticides. Inspect bushes for damage, disease or insect infestation and remove or replace as directed by the farm manager. Workers with driving authorization may be asked to drive workers from/to housing, worksite, and grocery store. OFLC Administrator publishes new AEWR rates yearly and we reserve the right to adjust our job order to the newly published rate with the exception of decreases. Raises and bonuses may be offered to any seasonal worker, at the employer’s discretion, based on individual factors including but not limited to, performance, experience, number of hours worked in the season, number of seasons worked with the company, adherence to work rules and ability to follow supervisor’s instructions.
