Job Duties:

Duties and responsibilities Work will be related to all aspects of a working ranch in Eastern Oregon. Will be required to feed, provide care and facilitate movement of cattle. Responsibilities to include calving and assisting with delivery if needed. Assist with gathering large herds of cattle, sorting and processing the cattle. Will assist in moving cattle as needed for pasture rotation and processing. Will assist in breeding and pregnancy checks of cattle. Will assist in feeding herds by hand or with the use of tractor or other mechanical means. Must be able to work in outdoor environments where weather is often unpredictable. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. Will use either horses or atv to gather cattle. Must be able to drive a pickup truck. Will repair barbed wire fences as necessary. Must be able to work alone at times. Will be responsible for performing activities required to affect flood irrigation on ranch properties. Will require use of shovels and tarps to build dams to disperse water. Will operate various types of farm equipment to include tractors and front end loaders. Increased wages and/ or bonus may be possible depending on experience.

Special Requirements:

3 months of experience related to the care of cattle with regard to calving and breeding and related tasks that it involves such as the movement of cattle by either horse or atv, , tractor driving, pickup driving, flood irrigation and fencing duties. Employer provided items (at no cost to the worker): All tools and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned as well as transportation between worker(s) on-site housing and the work site. A cell phone or two-way radio will be provided for emergency and ranch communications at no cost to the worker (excluding long distance charges). The expected work schedule may be required in a split shift due to the nature of the job duties. Hours may vary due to weather, time of year and the requirements of the job. Work may be offered more than the specified hours per day, but only required to work the hours specified. Work may be offered 7 days a week but only required 6 days a week.
