Agricultural Equipment Mechanic: This responsibility falls under the FLSA definition of secondary agriculture since the job duties are incidental and in conjunction with Heritage Farms’ farming operations
• Work on Agricultural Equipment like tractors and motors
• Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
• Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade.
• Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.
• Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use.
• Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks).
• Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
• Keep logs on work and issues.
• When needed, fabricates special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings.
• Maintain equipment and tools in good condition. Maintain a safe working environment and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Comply with company policies, safety regulations and legal guidelines.
• May perform harvesting duties

Qualifications:
• 12 months experience agriculture equipment (tractors, motors, etc.) and auto mechanic
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles.
• Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods.
• Ability to handle various tools (e.g. pliers) and heavy equipment (e.g. lift).
• Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
• Familiarity with government regulations, legal issues, safety protocols and procedures.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced changing environment.
Physical Requirements:
• Communicates orally with management, employees, co-workers, vendors, and the general public by telephone or in person, in one-on-one or group settings.
• Regularly uses a telephone, computer (e-mail) and fax for communication.
• Required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during the course of work shift.
• Routinely required to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, and reach, in the performance of job function.
• Requires the essential use of hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing.
• Exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Exposed to high noise and vibration levels.
• Lifting limitations for this position: 30-50 lbs.
• Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus as needed.
• Must be able to pass random and required drug and alcohol tests.
• Spend significant time outdoors, exposed to potentially difficult environment conditions.
