Job Duties:
Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. Perform manual labor to hand cut, pack, and re-pack watermelons. Use hand tools such as: shovels, hoes, brooms, scissors, shears, and knives. Duties also include cleaning, loading, and unloading harvested products. Grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel and quality to ensure correct processing and usage. Discard inferior or defective products and/or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing. Weigh products or estimate their weight, visually or by feel. Place products in containers according to grade and mark grades on containers. Measure, weigh and count products and materials. Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met. Workers may perform manual labor to pull plastic and weeds from the fields. Workers may drive forklift to load watermelons onto a trailer. Removal of irrigation equipment. Work in packinghouse, part of the farm, unloading, loading, sticker, grade, pack, make boxes, place pallets, and clean packing area at end of day.

Special Requirements:
Need 3 months experience in grading, sorting, and packing watermelon. The company may conduct criminal background checks on all new applicants for employment. Workers should come prepared wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the environmental and working conditions described. Cell phone can only be used during breaks, emergencies, and communicated with supervisor when needed. All tools, supplies and equipment will be provided at no cost to workers. Workers must be able to climb, stand, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, bend (from the waist), push, pull, reach, and lift while performing their required job duties. Lifting Requirement is 60 lbs. Most of the workday is spent in agricultural fields and involves exposure to sun, wind, rain, soil, mud, dust, heat, cold, humid, and other natural elements. Must assist with all Good Agricultural Practices policies. The workers must be able to cut an average of 4.3 buses per hour, load an average of 3 buses per hour, and pack
