The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Temporary, seasonal workers needed for horse, and grass/hay farm; job duties include tractor/equip/truck driving; field prep; water maintenance; fertilize/plant/harvest crops; manual shovel work, hoe weeds; spot spray; repair/maintain equip., farm and fences; maintain roads and shop; load/unload trucks; grass cutting. Repair/maintain barn, corrals, equip, farm, fences, fields, pastures, roads, shed shop and water troughs; all tools furnished; job involves frequent stooping and exposure to extreme temps, must be able to lift/carry 40 lbs.; minimum three months experience; Base hours offered is 48 hours offered; overtime hours are usually offered during busy season and may include an additional 10-40 hours of overtime work depending on the nature of the season; higher wage may be paid based on experience. Work schedule includes one unpaid lunch hour.
