The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
Job duties include the operation of equipment to perform manure mulching duties, compost manure, perform pipeline construction, and irrigation set up at the farm location. Equipment that employees will operate to perform these duties include but are not limited to mulcher, trackhoe, backhoe, trencher, manure spreader, etc. Employees will also perform manual labor such as maintenance on equipment, shoveling manure, moving dirt as needed, reeling wire and piping, and cleaning equipment and shop/farm structures as needed. Duties also include paperwork and record keeping of cost of production, and collect manure used for fertilizer for irrigation pivots. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on weather and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
