Livestock Production The Livestock Production duties are specific to caring for livestock during winter months. The worker(s) will be required to distribute feed to animals on the range. Lift and carry hay bales weighing up to 100 pounds; physically break ice with shovel and/or spud bar in order to keep water supply open for livestock; ride horse and/or 4-wheeler to move cows to various pastures feed livestock supplementary rations and mineral blocks with feeding equipment. The worker(s) will be required to move snow in order to keep areas open for movement of workers, equipment and livestock. Workers may also assist in the calving of heifers and cows during this time. Workers must be willing and able to perform tasks capably and efficiently without close supervision. Worker must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 pounds. Most duties are performed out-of-doors and entail exposure to extreme cold; snow, and wind; and herding hazards. Must be self sufficient in a winter blizzard situation. feeding work will have to be done despite adverse winter conditions. General supervision will be provided by the ranch owner. A minimum of 3 months’ experience is required. Drivers' License is required for hauling feed and back hauls for feed trip. Increased wage and or bonus may be possible depending on experience.

Employer provided items (at no cost to the worker): All tools and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned as well as transportation between worker(s) on-site housing and the work site. A cell phone or two-way radio will be provided for emergency and ranch communications at no cost to the worker (excluding long distance charges). The expected work schedule may be required in a split shift due to the nature of the job duties. Hours may vary due to weather, time of year and the requirements of the job. Work may be offered more than the specified hours per day, but only required to work the hours specified. Work may be offered 7 days a week but only required 6 days a week.
