The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Perform the following tasks for livestock: Moving cattle home from summer pasture in October. Fall cattle work. Weaning. Feeding cattle. Working and vaccinating cattle. Maintaining feed equipment. Inspect livestock for illness/injuries. Prepping ranch barns and grounds for freeze. Opening frozen water tanks and streams. Snow removal. Shipping livestock to market. Moving cattle to calving pins in February. Prep barns and cattle for calving. Cleaning barns. Prepping hay equipment. Maintain fences for summer pastures. Branding cattle. Moving cattle to summer pasture in June.
