The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
We have cattle that will need to be cared for from October to the end of June. Cattle will be moved to rented cornstalks and wheat pastures in October. Duties include tending to the cattle while on cornstalks and wheat pasture from October until February. Employees will need to check the water tanks, and using a pickup truck for hauling water, to make sure there is water always available, check to be sure none are sick, and doctoring when needed. In February the cows will need to be hauled or driven with a horse to a dry lot where they will need to be fed daily. Employee duties will include assisting with pulling a calf, trailering them to the veterinarian if needed, and doctoring babies. In mid-March cows will be put into their calving pastures to calve in April and May. In May and June, they will be branded and vaccinated while on summer pasture. Employees will complete all cattle care as assigned, and some general farm duties. In July, cows/calves will be moved to grass pasture where they will be grazing until the confinement period in October. No care, feeding or water will be needed while in pastures. Employer may provide pay increases for performance and experience at employer's discretion. Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer's discretion. For 2024 and all future applications the starting date will be 10/01/2024 to cover the entire crop season.
