Job Duties:
Performs job duties related to bedding plants, shrubs, small trees, pine straw. Bedding plants: prepare soil/growth media, fill pots; propagate, pot/re-pot, and transplant; prepare cold frames, hot beds; work on potting line (transplant seedlings/move to growing area), prepare baskets/decorative plant arrangements. Plant care--water, weed, prune, mulch, fertilize. Field work (outside): cultivate, condition soil (haul/spread topsoil/additives, mulch, rake,), transfer plants, irrigate, spray, weed, etc. Shrubs and small trees: prune, transplant, tie up tree tops, wrap bare root trees with burlap. Harvest pine straw: rake, bale and transport to market. Market preparation: tie, bunch, wrap, price, tag; select/pack products to fill orders, move/stack stock to storage areas. Miscellaneous duties: dig ditches, clean/repair fence/fence rows. Worksite maintenance: clean/repair?pots, tools/equipment, nursery/greenhouse/work areas, mow grass, grounds? keeping, put on/remove plastic from cold frame houses. Load/unload trucks--50-80 lb. bags, pinestraw bales, equipment, products, etc. In addition to the above duties that are performed on the greenhouse properties, the workers may travel on occasion to customer locations for the sole purpose of unloading plant stock that are grown by Coachs Cedar Creek Farm. All plant stock being unloaded is grown, cultivated and harvested on Coachs Cedar Creek Farm properties, which is their primary business. The workers will not perform landscaping duties.

Special Requirements:
Able to drive tractor/farm truck. Able to operate farm equipmentweed eaters, mowers, hedge trimmers, posthole diggers, power tools. Use hand toolsshovels, hoes, pruning shears. Work inside and outside in various weather conditions (100 degree temp., light rain). Able to perform physically demanding job duties (standing/stooping, bending for long periods), work at all locations. Must be available for entire contract period and able to perform all job duties. Applicants must possess documents to complete INS Form I-9 and be available at time and place necessary to begin employment. Drug screening paid for by Coachs Cedar Creek Farm is conducted once job offer is accepted and prior to beginning work. Background checks/drug tests are done to insure the safety of employees and customers.
