Job Duties:
Workers will drive and operate mowers and farm machinery to plant, irrigate, cultivate, and store rice and grain crops. Rice – Level rice bins, load/unload trucks. Workers may drive tractors, trucks and harvesting equipment. Operate field/farm vehicles, equipment and implements to plant, cultivate and harvest crops in the field and at the rice bins and elevators. Use brooms, blowers, shovels and vacuum cleaning devices to clean trucks, pits, and rice carts. Set up and maintain irrigation equipment. Grain - Till soil to plant and cultivate grain crops. Workers will be operating grain bin facilities, inspect inside/outside of bin making sure the door is sealed properly with no visible gaps, and pre-harvest grain bin maintenance. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc, sprayer and drill to tractor. Drive and operate self-propelled combines, cotton pickers and tractors. Workers will be responsible for doing minor repairs on machinery. Checking for birds’ nests, cracked belts, rough sounds in the motor, and any divots in the track. Inspect ladders and steps for loose bolts, broken ladder rungs, and clear them of all obstructions.

Worker will need three (3) months experience as an agricultural equipment operator and planting, irrigating, cultivating and harvesting rice and grain crops. A valid drivers' license is required if driving a farm vehicle. Employer may conduct background check on all new applicants for employment at employers expense. All tools, supplies and equipment will be provided at no cost to workers. Workers should come prepared wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the environmental and working conditions described. Cell phone can only be used during breaks, emergencies, and communicated with supervisor when needed. Will work outdoors in extreme temperatures. Job involves extreme and repetitive movements such as: walking, sitting, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Lifting/Carrying requirement may have a range of 75 100 lbs.
