The Department of Labor recently announced new minimum wage rates, called Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWRs), that employers must offer and pay, at the time work is performed, to nonimmigrant H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment beginning on the effective date of the new wage rates. Job Duties:
We have sheep that will need to be cared for from December to the end of March. Sheep will be confined for winter lambing. Employees will need to care for sheep during the confinement period. Employees will need to check the water tanks, and using a pickup truck for hauling water, to make sure there is water always available, check to be sure there are no sick sheep, and doctoring when needed. In December, the sheep will need to be moved to a dry lot where they will need to be fed daily. Employee duties will include assisting with pulling a lamb, trailering them to the veterinarian if needed, and doctoring lambs. In November sheep will be put into their lambing pastures to lamb. In March, they will be branded and vaccinated before released to summer pasture. Employees will complete all sheep care as assigned, and some general farm duties. In April, ewes and lambs will be moved to grass pasture where they will be grazing until the confinement period in November. No care, feeding or water will be needed while in pastures. We only need seasonal assistance during the very labor-intensive lambing season. ***Please note for 2024 and all future years our season will start in November. For 2023 December is the earliest date available.
